Project Overview
The goal was to design a campaign management feature that enabled sellers to set up automated messaging campaigns based on customer behavior, broadcast messages to customer groups, and manage their budget effectively.
Problem
Existing WhatsApp campaign management systems were either too expensive or too independent. Solutions lacked integration with Amazon Smartbiz, making them less cohesive for sellers. Sellers needed an easier way to set budgets, create messages, and track performance.
Outcome
Created a sophisticated campaign management system on mobile with pre-approved templates that allowed sellers to activate, edit and manage campaigns on the go. Designed for automated campaigns triggered by customer behaviour, broadcast messages and dynamic order alerts.

Post-Paid Wallet for Budget Control
A post-paid wallet system allowed sellers to set a monthly message limit, helping them stay within budget while scaling campaigns based on performance. With clear visibility into usage, charges, and limits, sellers could manage costs transparently and avoid unexpected expenses.

Pre-Approved Templates for Quick Campaign Setup
To streamline campaign setup, the system included pre-approved WhatsApp templates, allowing sellers to launch messages instantly without waiting for approval. These templates covered common use cases while ensuring compliance, with options for customisation.

Order Alerts with Variables
Sellers could personalize order alerts using variables like <First Name>

, making messages more relevant and engaging. The system ensured dynamic information was inserted seamlessly, with real-time previews to verify accuracy before sending.

The analytics dashboard gave sellers real-time insights into key metrics like conversion rates, message delivery, and clicks. With clear visualizations, they could track performance, identify trends, and refine their messaging strategies for better engagement and results.

Sellers could browse a library of both pre-approved WhatsApp templates and their own custom-created templates. This made it easy to find and reuse messages for promotions, order updates, and customer engagement while ensuring compliance and consistency.








Learnings and Takeaways
Over-engineering the system could have made it overwhelming for users.
Keeping the design simple and focused on essential workflows led to better adoption.
Complex campaign management features were more effective on desktop due to easier navigation of extra steps.
By introducing structured budget control, ready-to-use templates, an intuitive message editor, and data-driven insights, the campaign management system successfully met sellers' needs, making messaging campaigns easier to manage, track, and optimize.
